It is highly recommended that these applications be modified to comply with the SQL standard. Some applications might expect that expression = NULL returns true if expression evaluates to the null value. (The null value represents an unknown value, and it is not known whether two unknown values are equal.) Or the equivalent, but nonstandard, predicates: expression ISNULLĭo not write expression = NULL because NULL is not “ equal to” NULL. To check whether a value is or is not null, use the predicates: expression IS NULL Thus, these predicates effectively act as though null were a normal data value, rather than “ unknown”. Similarly, IS NOT DISTINCT FROM is identical to = for non-null inputs, but it returns true when both inputs are null, and false when only one input is null. However, if both inputs are null it returns false, and if only one input is null it returns true. When this behavior is not suitable, use the IS DISTINCT FROM predicates: a IS DISTINCT FROM b a IS NOT DISTINCT FROM bįor non-null inputs, IS DISTINCT FROM is the same as the operator. For example, 7 = NULL yields null, as does 7 NULL. Ordinary comparison operators yield null (signifying “ unknown”), not true or false, when either input is null. If you need to write a more complex sub-expression in BETWEEN, write parentheses around the sub-expression. To resolve this, only a limited set of expression types are allowed as the second argument of a BETWEEN clause. The use of AND in the BETWEEN syntax creates an ambiguity with the use of AND as a logical operator. The various variants of BETWEEN are implemented in terms of the ordinary comparison operators, and therefore will work for any data type(s) that can be compared. If it is not, those two arguments are automatically swapped, so that a nonempty range is always implied. BETWEEN SYMMETRIC is like BETWEEN except there is no requirement that the argument to the left of AND be less than or equal to the argument on the right. Notice that BETWEEN treats the endpoint values as included in the range. The BETWEEN predicate simplifies range tests: a BETWEEN x AND y NULL::boolean IS NOT UNKNOWN → f (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields true or false. NULL::boolean IS UNKNOWN → t (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields unknown. NULL::boolean IS NOT FALSE → t (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields true or unknown. NULL::boolean IS FALSE → f (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields false. NULL::boolean IS NOT TRUE → t (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields false or unknown. NULL::boolean IS TRUE → f (rather than NULL) Test whether boolean expression yields true. Test whether value is not null (nonstandard syntax). Test whether value is null (nonstandard syntax). NULL IS NOT DISTINCT FROM NULL → t (rather than NULL) NULL IS DISTINCT FROM NULL → f (rather than NULL)ĭatatype IS NOT DISTINCT FROM datatype → booleanĮqual, treating null as a comparable value.ġ IS NOT DISTINCT FROM NULL → f (rather than NULL) Not equal, treating null as a comparable value.ġ IS DISTINCT FROM NULL → t (rather than NULL) Not between, after sorting the two endpoint values.ĭatatype IS DISTINCT FROM datatype → boolean These behave much like operators, but have special syntax mandated by the SQL standard.ĭatatype BETWEEN datatype AND datatype → booleanīetween (inclusive of the range endpoints).ĭatatype NOT BETWEEN datatype AND datatype → booleanĭatatype BETWEEN SYMMETRIC datatype AND datatype → booleanīetween, after sorting the two endpoint values.ĭatatype NOT BETWEEN SYMMETRIC datatype AND datatype → boolean There are also some comparison predicates, as shown in Table 9.2. Use the BETWEEN predicates shown below to perform range tests. Thus, expressions like 1 < 2 < 3 are not valid (because there is no < operator to compare a Boolean value with 3). Some cases of this sort are implemented directly by “ cross-type” comparison operators, but if no such operator is available, the parser will coerce the less-general type to the more-general type and apply the latter's comparison operator.Īs shown above, all comparison operators are binary operators that return values of type boolean. It is usually possible to compare values of related data types as well for example integer > bigint will work. In addition, arrays, composite types, and ranges can be compared if their component data types are comparable. These comparison operators are available for all built-in data types that have a natural ordering, including numeric, string, and date/time types. Hence, it is not possible to implement != and operators that do different things. != is an alias, which is converted to at a very early stage of parsing. Is the standard SQL notation for “ not equal”. Keeping up your average speed over two laps is similarly engrossing. Project Gotham Racing fans will certainly understand. One recurring task involves snaking through cone gates before your time is up, and it's hard to resist the temptation to repeat this until you've claimed the gold medal. The best examples of this are fun rather than simply educational. All the screen furniture is optional, and can be modified. The difficulty of picking up TOCA's handling isn't sufficient to warrant quite so many skill-building tasks, but the decision to chunkify the game does help you to learn the track layouts (crucial during races, obviously), and more pointedly aims to school you about racing lines, braking distances and so on. This does mean that your traditional dour Scottish mechanic is absent, but it (and indeed that) is not entirely without merit. New to the PSP's confusingly named second outing - and responsible for its longer title - is the World Challenge mode, which throws you onto tracks in various bits of the world with specific objectives, the idea being to develop your skills before it plunges you into qualifying and Grand Prix. Of course, some of that was there in the last handheld TOCA. There's no shortage of viewpoints to opt for (bumper, bonnet, in-car, third-person), there's a rare outing for the game-sharing option (we'd forgotten how to use it, it's been so long), there's replay-saving and even custom soundtrack support. It's also symptomatic of TOCA Race Driver 3's devotion to its new home. It is, as Kieron would probably point out, "very emo". This, I'm reliably informed, is how "the hardcore" play. This lets you use the analogue nub for acceleration and braking, while the PSP's face buttons act as a d-pad. You know what TOCA was clearly missing? An option to turn the screen upside down. Post-publication shouting: Attention! Sumo Digital made this game! We forgot to put that the first time! This is quite surprising as they also ported OutRun 2 and did OutRun 2006, which we usually mention at least once a day! Exclamation exclamation oneoneshift normal service resumes. Though travel restrictions are much looser now than it was last year, many are still cautious in travelling. Since the pandemic hit, all of us have missed travelling and visiting different countries and experiencing new things. In fact, this game is 50% larger than Forza Horizon 4. To date, this is the biggest map in the entire Horizon series. This time, players get to journey through a highly detailed Mexico. It represented the condensed versions of Edinburgh, the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District, Ambleside, Cotswolds, Bamburgh and more. In Forza Horizon 4, fans get to enjoy the vast and colourful countryside of Great Britain. We wonder if we’ll get a Mad Max collab eventually. That’s right, a freaking sandstorm like Mad Max. There’s even a scene where you drive in a sandstorm. You get thrown out of a plane and race your way to the Horizon event. This game introduces you to the world that is very Fast and Furious-esque, from a plane. When you start the campaign, you get to test out different terrains and different cars. Even if you have a standard pair of speakers or headphones, you can still hear the sound of engines revving through the streets of Mexico. Not only is the map humongous, but there are more custom parts that players can enjoy, more performance mods as well as cars that have more character and detail than any other racing game. It definitely raises the bar for other open-world racing games.įrom the lighting, effects to the architecture details, Forza Horizon 5 has significantly upgraded in its visual standpoint. This game is a proper upgrade from its predecessor, Horizon 4. Usually, when it comes to sports or racing games, it would feel like the same content, same graphics and exactly the same gameplay. With Forza Horizon 5, Playground Studios has hit the spot once again. Though this may come as no surprise as Forza Horizon games have always been way ahead of their time in terms of graphic design and open-world concept seals the deal for many racing game fans. However, the underhand methods by which many have chosen to follow this model often provoke understandable outrage among many fanbases. It’s been a month plus since Forza Horizon 5 came out and we just can’t hide our excitement for it. There's nothing inherently wrong with allowing players the choice of buying success as a shortcut to grinding, or else accessing extra content for small amounts of cash. Microtransactions continue to be one of the gaming world's most contentious and hotly debated issues. RELATED: A Modern LEGO Racers Reboot Could Work - Here's How Furthermore, while Sony and Polyphony Digital essentially hid the presence of microtransactions before release, Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios had been far more transparent about the content that players could expect to receive. Forze does have DLC that can be purchased individually or with a Season Pass, as well as Car Pass and VIP memberships, but most of these are one-time purchases that players can take or leave depending on their desire for expanded content. In contrast, Forza Horizon 5 includes no direct microtransactions, and certainly no credit-based bundle system that has been so hated by players of its rival. Considering that the most expensive cars in Gran Turismo 7 require players to shell out for 3,000,000 credits, or $40 in real currency, it's little wonder fan responses have been so vociferous. This hit players with a nasty surprise upon reveal and left many feeling manipulated, deceived and bitterly annoyed. Quite tellingly, Sony and Polyphony Digital never mentioned this aspect of the game's microtransactions before launch, meaning reviewers and critics were unaware of them when giving their respective assessments. Grinding to unlock cars is still possible, but the game seems to make a deliberate decision to make this process as long and arduous as possible, even having reduced the number of credits earned from races to compel players towards microtransactions. Instead, racers must use a credit bundle system to make purchases, meaning that even the cheapest cars can't be bought via one-time purchases. To buy new cars, players have to invest in credits, ranging from 100,000 at a cost of $2.49 to 2,000,000 at a cost of $19.99, meaning that a player's minimum spend is now determined by the lowest credit bracket rather than the value of the car they want to purchase. Unlike its predecessor, Gran Turismo Sport, players can no longer simply pay a set sum for a single car. That in their assemblies, and especially in their grand chapters, they worshipped the idol as a god, as their saviour, saying that this head could save them, that it bestowed on the order all its wealth, made the trees flower, and the plants of the earth to sprout forth." "that in all the provinces they had idols, that is to say, heads, some of which had three faces, others but one sometimes, it was a human skull. The indictment ( acte d'accusation) published by the court of Rome set forth. Similarly, Michael Haag suggests that the simulated worship of Baphomet did indeed form part of a Templar initiation rite. The " Chinon Parchment suggests that the Templars did indeed spit on the cross", says Sean Martin, and that these acts were intended to simulate the kind of humiliation and torture that a Crusader might be subjected to if captured by the Saracens, where they were taught how to commit apostasy "with the mind only and not with the heart". Yet Malcolm Barber observes that historians "find it difficult to accept that an affair of such enormity rests upon total fabrication". Most of them were dubious, as they were the same charges that were leveled against the Cathars and many of King Philip's enemies he had earlier kidnapped Pope Boniface VIII and charged him with nearly identical offenses. Over 100 different charges had been leveled against the Templars, including heresy, homosexual relations, spitting and urinating on the cross, and sodomy. The name Baphomet appeared in trial transcripts for the Inquisition of the Knights Templar that same year. King Philip IV of France had many French Templars simultaneously arrested, and then tortured into confessions in October 1307. īaphomet was allegedly worshipped as a deity by the medieval order of the Knights Templar. De Bafomet is also the title of one of four surviving chapters of an Occitan translation of Ramon Llull's earliest known work, the Libre de la doctrina pueril. Around 1250, a Provençal poem by Austorc d'Aorlhac bewailing the defeat of the Seventh Crusade again uses the name Bafomet for Muhammad. The name Bafometz later appeared around 1195 in the Provençal poems Senhors, per los nostres peccatz by the troubadour Gavaudan. Raymond of Aguilers, a chronicler of the First Crusade, reports that the troubadours used the term Bafomet for Muhammad, and Bafumaria for a mosque. Īs the next day dawned, they called loudly upon Baphometh and we prayed silently in our hearts to God, then we attacked and forced all of them outside the city walls. Sequenti die aurora apparente, altis vocibus Baphometh invocaverunt et nos Deum nostrum in cordibus nostris deprecantes, impetum facientes in eos, de muris civitatis omnes expulimus. Since 1856 the name Baphomet has been associated with the " Sabbatic Goat" image drawn by Éliphas Lévi, composed of binary elements representing the " symbolization of the equilibrium of opposites": half-human and half-animal, male and female, good and evil, etc. Baphomet is a symbol of balance in various occult and mystical traditions, the origin of which some occultists have attempted to link with the Gnostics and Templars, although occasionally purported to be a deity or a demon. It first came into popular English usage in the 19th century during debate and speculation on the reasons for the suppression of the Templar order. The best thing with SJCAM is, its not only cheaper, but everything inside it is just great as I expected. So the total cost is £118 which is slightly cheaper than Git2. Other things I bought separately which cost me another £18 (£10 for additional accessories + £8 for dual batteries and its charger). I bought SJCAM at the price of £99 and it came with the basic accessories. He asked though he didn’t quite agree with my decision as he thought other cameras would just be the same in quality, but I insisted since I believe SJCAM is the best one. Of course I did want to since it didn’t perform as I wish it to be, even my handset could do a better job. I think hubby realized how unhappy I was with Git2, so he asked if I would like to return it. The only thing that satisfied me is the gyro, it works as many claimed it should be. The same thing with the brightness, too much it compromised. We knew from the start it won’t be sharp, but didn’t expect it to be too blurred. The image is not sharp, even worse at night. We didn’t really expect this as we believed it was the right choice after making a thorough research, but it just didn’t. All I can say is its just below our expectation. Sadly the performance of Git2 really upset me. The package arrived a day after we put the order since it is filled by Amazon prime, thus giving us plenty of time to make further review and option to buy another just in case of anything (with prime you can return it if you are not satisfied with the product). I chose a package which provides the accessories I need, Git2 camera with its basic accessories + a battery and charger + additional accessories (all in the right side). This however didn’t affect much our decision to buy Git2 as we thought the brightness and sharpness might still be acceptable. However, having the latter means it has to compromise its sharpness. The main reasons why we chose Git2 at first were because it seemed to have the best performance of gyro, yet it performed better at night with its low light. Again, it was a tough decision making and we could not help but to go with Git2. The rest comparison I summarized in the table below: CRITERIAĪs you see, SJCAM clearly won over Git2. In term of price, SJCAM is slightly cheaper than Git2, but that was no longer be my concern as hubby offered to topup the excess, haha, lep u abang =p. I set certain criteria for my camera to meet, it should Īfter breaking down the list following the criteria I set, it left us with two best options Gitup Git2 and SJCAM SJ5000x Elite. I didn’t consider Gopro Hero as its competitor because it was not included under my list of considerations (due to the price, haha). It was a tough decision though as Gitup Git2 has many strong competitors like SJCAM, Xiaomi Yi, Thieye and Apeman. Later we decided to go with Gitup Git2 (though I didn’t actually fully agree with that, haha). We did research for a couple of days before buying one just to make sure we made the right decision. My husband and I are planning to go for a holiday in the next 2 weeks, so I decided to get an action camera for the trip.
