When you start the campaign, you get to test out different terrains and different cars. Even if you have a standard pair of speakers or headphones, you can still hear the sound of engines revving through the streets of Mexico. ![]() Not only is the map humongous, but there are more custom parts that players can enjoy, more performance mods as well as cars that have more character and detail than any other racing game. It definitely raises the bar for other open-world racing games.įrom the lighting, effects to the architecture details, Forza Horizon 5 has significantly upgraded in its visual standpoint. This game is a proper upgrade from its predecessor, Horizon 4. Usually, when it comes to sports or racing games, it would feel like the same content, same graphics and exactly the same gameplay. With Forza Horizon 5, Playground Studios has hit the spot once again. Though this may come as no surprise as Forza Horizon games have always been way ahead of their time in terms of graphic design and open-world concept seals the deal for many racing game fans. However, the underhand methods by which many have chosen to follow this model often provoke understandable outrage among many fanbases.It’s been a month plus since Forza Horizon 5 came out and we just can’t hide our excitement for it. There's nothing inherently wrong with allowing players the choice of buying success as a shortcut to grinding, or else accessing extra content for small amounts of cash. Microtransactions continue to be one of the gaming world's most contentious and hotly debated issues. Quite tellingly, Sony and Polyphony Digital never mentioned this aspect of the game's microtransactions before launch, meaning reviewers and critics were unaware of them when giving their respective assessments. Grinding to unlock cars is still possible, but the game seems to make a deliberate decision to make this process as long and arduous as possible, even having reduced the number of credits earned from races to compel players towards microtransactions. ![]() Instead, racers must use a credit bundle system to make purchases, meaning that even the cheapest cars can't be bought via one-time purchases. To buy new cars, players have to invest in credits, ranging from 100,000 at a cost of $2.49 to 2,000,000 at a cost of $19.99, meaning that a player's minimum spend is now determined by the lowest credit bracket rather than the value of the car they want to purchase.
