Jay was struck down by Julia's father, who had acquired and modified super-powered armor. Jay fell in love with Julia Cabot, but due to a long feud between the Guthries and the Cabots a fight broke out. However, when performing in his band, playing guitar, he exposed his wings to the crowd as a 'stage gimmick'. When Jay himself developed mutant powers, he hid them from his family. Jay, risking his own safety, played some music, giving Dazzler sufficient power to help blast an escape route. Dazzler had run out of the sound needed to fuel her light-based powers. Lila had been knocked out, rendering her unable to use her teleportation abilities. īefore Jay developed powers, he helped his brother Sam rescue the mutant musician Lila Cheney, the mutant Dazzler, and a third band member from a plane crash. When Sam and Paige left home to become X-Men, Jay took over the role of the father in the house, feeling that he had to protect his younger brothers and sisters. Jay had several other brothers and sisters, and his whole family was generally hated by his home town due to the fact that they all seemed to be developing mutant powers. His mutant sister Melody was de-powered during M-Day. Another of their siblings, Jeb, developed the mutant ability to project electricity from his eyes. Jay's older siblings Sam and Paige were mutants as well, and both had been members of the X-Men. This should light both torches and trigger a chest to appear.Jay was the son of Thomas Guthrie, referred to as both "Ty" and "Zeke", and Lucinda Guthrie. Use an Apollo Arrow and shoot through the blue flame, aiming directly towards a large torch that is right outside of the window. This should show a blue flame guarded behind gates. Open that bad boy up and stand on the pressure pad. Go around the building until there is another crumbling golden wall. This will take players to the highest point of the Observatory. Go up the stairs once more, but this time, go towards the middle set of stairs. To trigger this cutscene, players will need to complete one more quest in the area before Icarus Wings come into effect. To get the glide ability, players will need to trigger a particular cutscene to get the game really started. However, players won't have the ability to glide just yet. Once the final orb is in the square, the square will allow players to pick up Icarus Wings. This will allow players to open the door safely and return both orbs to the square without problems. Grab the second orb and place it in the same room as the first orb. By leaving the orb where it's at, the door to the second orb will also stay open. Move past the closed door and head from the open room with the orb, but don't grab the orb just yet. When at the top of the stairs, players will find a switch that will open and close two doors at once. Also, players will be able to use the items they've found in the same order they were obtained, which is always a fun little thing. Although we will describe them in a certain order, players are able to pick and choose what order to tackle these puzzles. However, this order does seem to be the easiest to follow. Players can address these puzzles in any order they seem fit. If placed incorrectly, players won't get access to Icarus Wings. Be sure to place the orbs in this puzzle in the same manner that is displayed on the wall. There should be a pattern on the wall that looks similar to how players can set the orbs. Players will notice that one of the holes actually has a blue orb tucked away inside. Every time players complete a puzzle, they'll be rewarded with one of these blue orbs. To access Icarus Wings, players will need to obtain four blue orbs. Head to the top of the stairs to find a square with 16 holes punched into it. Once players have obtained the Jar of Aiolos, players should go to the Observatory.
